While the seasonal and pasture conditions for the cows were totally different to what they had at Tully, they adapted well to the harsher and much drier climate of western Queensland.
The environment at “Pine Hills” has posed no problems to the cows and once again the breed is showing its tolerance for a variety of climatic conditions. Due to the smaller size of this property the Wallace Vale cows are run in conjunction with the Eversleigh commercial herd.
(The images illustrate the challenges presented to the commercial herd not long after they arrived out west.)
